There is something to see
The five highlights of Parga
For us, Parga is certainly most beautiful sight with the green, hilly landscape, the colourful houses and the glorious, blue Ionian Sea. At the same time, there are at least five sights which are also worth a visit!
Venetian castle
You will not regret climbing the 65 steep stairs to the castle – because you will be rewarded with the breathtaking view and the numerous photo-hotspots. In the summer, there is also the possibility that you can watch a theatre performance. By the way, you can find a cozy café with a very beautiful view in the castle.
Nisaki
You can reach this small island from the beach Krioneri by swimming or even by walking at one spot. Of course you can also take a water taxi or cross the water by a stand up paddle boat. If you are lucky, you will witness a Greek wedding in the chapel of “Agia Panagia” during the summer months. Near the chapel there is also a small fortress which was built on the 16th century by the French.
The watermill museum
There is a way from the Villas which leads to the watermill museum. The museum is very small but designed in a lovely way. Nearby you will find an attractive café with big plane trees offering pleasant shade from the hot sun. And in less than five minutes you can discover a hidden waterfall.
Monastery Vlacherna
The monastery from the 14th century is located on the hill at the end of the beach Chrisogiali. You can clearly see the 15 meter high tower from the beach. From the monastery emerges a wonderful walkway that leads between olive groves to the coast in direction of Anthousa.
Olive museum Paragaea
A long time before the first tourists came to Parga, the small town lived from olive trade. This rich history is shown in the olive museum. There you can experience the way olive oil is produced today. In the olive museum, wine connoisseurs have the opportunity to book a wine tasting course with selected Greek wines.
