Attractive destinations in the region of Parga

he beach with a longitude of about 1 km is practically located in front of the house door and you can reach it easily by foot. Here you can relax in the water, you can enjoy a snack in one of the numerous beach cafes or do watersports, as for example stand up paddling, waterski or diving. On the beach volleyball field you can mainly find local people. The mood is easy and friendly and every guest is welcome to play with them. The only thing you have to do is to look at their direction interested and then you will be invited to participate. In the months from October to April the conditions are ideal for surfing at the edge of the bay (below the castle). But you need some experience to master this challenging spot.

A small village with a nice view on Parga and with some good taverns. The water mill with its small museum and the hidden waterfall nearby is always worth a visit. Anthousa also offers numerous hiking routes which you can discover on foot or by bike/mountain bike.

The next bigger village is located about 400 meters over the sea. It has some good taverns and offers a breathtaking view on Parga. Between Anthousa and Agia the fortress of Ali Pasha is located.

A picturesque bay with two good taverns, it is ideal for relaxed days on the beach. From Parga there are water taxis to Sarakiniko every day. You can also reach this beach by car.

Lichnos has about the same size as Valtos/Chrisogiali, but it is considerably less frequented and therefore ideal for those who prefer their peace and calm. You can reach this spot either by water taxi or by car.

A greater village with some good restaurants/taverns and street cafes. Perdika is ideal for lovers of romantic sunsets. The village has also a viewpoint from which you can have the best view on the sunset.

In Amoudia there are some good taverns and a nice beach. From October to May, this is a regular surf spot, partially surfing is also possible in the summer months.

A death oracle and an antique temple. Here the rich Greek history comes alive.

Many beautiful bays and beaches. Very green landscape. Ideal for boat renting and discovering the different lonely beaches and the small islands in front of them.

It is a 4 km long beach with various beach cafes. If you are lucky and the weather conditions are right, you can also go surfing in Loutsa.

A river with a lot of springs . In the Greek mythology Acheron was one of the five rivers which lead to the underworld of Hades. Take a jump into the magic world of gods and legends and do it also literally: Use the Acheron river for swimming or river rafting. The water is extremely fresh because the springs come deeply from the rock. However, there are a plenty of opportunities to go hiking and riding.

The gate to the region of Epirus is a port city. From there daily ferries go to Italy and also to the Ionian islands of Corfu and Paxoi.

This antique city was built in 31 B.C by order of the Roman emperor Octavian, after he had won the sea battle in the Amvrakian Bay against Markus Antonius und Cleopatra.

It is a city between the Ionian Sea and the Amvrakian Bay. On the opposite side of the city the peninsula of the airport “Aktion” is located, to which on summer a lot of airport companies fly to. Preveza is also known for its sardines and every year on summer the city celebrates to their honor-mainly on the end of August.

In the village of Dodona an amazingly well preserved antique amphitheater from the 3rd century is located. It includes about 18.000 seats and it has still extraordinary good acoustics.

Ioannina is the capital of the region of Epirus. The city is located in the mainland of the country surrounded by mountains, a lot of nature and the lake “Pamvotis” with the small island “Nisaki”. The city offers some culture and is ideal for shopping. One insider tip is the stalactite cavern of Perama.

If you think that Greece has only sun and beaches to offer, you should in any case visit this mountain region with the deeply fissured rocks and their spectacular gorges. 46 traditional villages with stone houses are located in Zagorochoria. There you will also find two national parks and the second deepest gorge of the world after Grand Canyon, the gorge of Vikos. The region of Zagorochoria is a dream for hikers, mountain bikers and nature lovers.

These small islands are located opposite Parga and are recognizable even with bare eyes. From Parga there are daily multiple excursions by boat to Paxos and Antipaxos.

Corfu is the most northern Ionian island. Corfu has a wonderful old town and the biggest airport nearby. Every Thursday morning a ferry starts from Parga to Corfu and brings the passengers back at night.

The island in the Ionian Sea offers dream beaches, forests, mountains and a lot of unspoiled nature. Because of an underground connection you can reach the island from the mainland by car.
